The West Davidson Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Davidson 55-27 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win West Davidson has posted since December 12, 2023.
West Davidson was led to victory by Wyatt Cooper and Zoey Taylor. Cooper scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Taylor scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Motlei Stovall, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
West Davidson's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11. As for South Davidson, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Davidson will face off against South Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Stanly has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17. As for South Davidson, they will head out on the road to square off against North Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Rowan's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
