Clermont Northeastern is 2-8 against Williamsburg since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Jenna Brown was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Addisyn Baker was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Karlee Gamble, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Clermont Northeastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Georgetown only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Williamsburg put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Georgetown a 5-0 shutout. The Wildcats' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last five matchups.
Williamsburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaityln Pollitt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Williamsburg pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Clermont Northeastern, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
