The Collinsville Kahoks will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Lift for Life Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 17th. Hopefully Collinsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
Collinsville is ranked highly in their home state, and they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Vianney. Collinsville took down Vianney 71-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Nick Horras was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Jamorie Wysinger was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Lift for Life Academy came up short against Principia on Wednesday and fell 59-47. While losing is never fun, Lift for Life Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Principia is ranked 39th).
Collinsville's win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Lift for Life Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Collinsville didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lift for Life Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 59-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Collinsville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
