Basketball Recap: David Posnack Jewish Day Piles Up the Points Against Don Soffer Aventura

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask David Posnack Jewish Day). They blew past the Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda 51-18 on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

David Posnack Jewish Day was led to victory by Natalie Sagranichne and Sophia Klein. Sagranichne went 8 for 13 on her way to 21 points and six steals, while Klein posted 17 points in addition to six assists and five steals. That's the most steals Sagranichne has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebecca Goldmann, who put up four points.

Despite the loss, Don Soffer Aventura still got an impressive performance from Liana Kozko, who had 17 points. Kozko's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

David Posnack Jewish Day's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Don Soffer Aventura, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

David Posnack Jewish Day didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-34 loss against Katz Yeshiva on the 12th. Don Soffer Aventura will take on Immaculata-La Salle in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. Immaculata-La Salle will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Don Soffer Aventura surely won't give up without a fight.
