Basketball Recap: Amundsen's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Amundsen extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Cj Fortier. The Amundsen Vikings enjoyed a cozy 65-49 victory over the Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks on Tuesday thanks in part to Fortier, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Amadeus Valdez, who posted eight points and four steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Amundsen pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Steinmetz College Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amundsen will head out to take on Prosser at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Amundsen is facing Prosser at the right time seeing as Prosser is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Steinmetz College Prep, they will venture away from home to challenge Mather at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mather is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.
