The Rye Country Day Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holy Child. The game was a 17-17 toss-up at halftime, but Rye Country Day couldn't quite close it out.
Sophia Concepcion went supernova for Holy Child, scoring 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Concepcion has scored all season. Alessia Paladino was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Rye Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Holy Child, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rye Country Day will take on Greenwich Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Holy Child, they will be playing at home against Millbrook School at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Millbrook School has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 174 points over their last three games.
