While Lowell didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. The Red Arrows haven't had any issues with the Red Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Lowell also got a great performance from Ty Wasilenski as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave Wasilenski a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Logan Dawson, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Kreps, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Lowell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matchups.
Marshall's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lowell, their record now sits at 8-2-1.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Marshall has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Lowell struggles in that department as they've averaged .482. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
