Seminary is 0-3 against East Marion since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Seminary Bulldogs' road trip will continue as they head out to face the East Marion Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Seminary took a serious blow against Collins, falling 79-48. While losing is never fun, Seminary can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Collins is ranked 111th).
Meanwhile, East Marion pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jefferson Davis County. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Marion in their matchups with Jefferson Davis County: they've now lost three in a row.
Donny Anderson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 31 points along with six rebounds. The game was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Lozavious Armstrong was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Seminary's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for East Marion, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Seminary was taken down by East Marion 88-52 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Seminary avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
