It was a good run, but the East Rutherford Cavaliers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Myers Park 43-37. While losing is never fun, East Rutherford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Myers Park is ranked sixth).
Loss or not, East Rutherford got some senior leadership from Jada Whitesides who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals and Taniyah Cash who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Whitesides hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games.
East Rutherford's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Myers Park, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
East Rutherford will head out on the road to square off against R-S Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Myers Park, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Olympic at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Olympic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
