Logan View/Scribner-Snyder barely beat Concordia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Concordia 44-10. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Smith out in front who rushed for 67 yards on only eight carries, and also caught one score. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder also got a significant boost from Jett Vacha, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Logan View/Scribner-Snyder was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 271 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 206 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Vacha, Truman Young, and Brendon Horvatich picked up one apiece. Young got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Fort Calhoun's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 34-20 bruising from Mount Michael Benedictine. The game marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Kaiden Rodriguez and Jedd Ramold. Ramold had a great game and rushed for 165 yards and one TD while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Rodriguez was balling out in the loss, rushing for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Having lost for the first time this season, Fort Calhoun fell to 4-1. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, their record is now 2-3.
The upcoming matchup will be a clash of competing strengths. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 241.4 rushing yards a game.
