The Falcon Falcons will challenge the Manitou Springs Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Falcon is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games.
Falcon proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 13) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Canon City.
Jaxon Schleper was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other pitching news, Parker Cordova looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Talon Chubb, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Manitou Springs and Buena Vista, and Manitou Springs kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Demons with a sharp 11-4 win on Saturday. Considering the Mustangs have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Falcon, Manitou Springs also got a great game from a two-way player: Maxton Bolster. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Bolster also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Manitou Springs is 6-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Bolster was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Manitou Springs got a big performance out of Trafford Havens, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Logan Moore, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Manitou Springs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Falcon's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Manitou Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Falcon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Manitou Springs struggles in that department as they've averaged .460. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Falcon couldn't quite finish off Manitou Springs in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
