The Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Ascension Episcopal on Monday as Woodlawn-B.R. made off with a 53-32 win. Given Woodlawn-B.R.'s advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Ascension Episcopal is ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Christian Johnson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelinee Stone, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Woodlawn-B.R.'s victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Ascension Episcopal, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodlawn-B.R. will be home for the holidays to greet Belaire at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ascension Episcopal will take on North Vermilion at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
