It was a good run, but the Antwerp Archers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wayne Trace. Antwerp has struggled against Wayne Trace recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Archers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landon Brewer, who scored 20 points. Brewer hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Carson Altimus, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Antwerp's loss dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Wayne Trace, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antwerp will take on Patrick Henry at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Patrick Henry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 481st, while Antwerp is ranked 178th). As for Wayne Trace, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Miller City at 7:30 p.m.
