The Maclay Marauders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blountstown Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Maclay is still undefeated this season after their contest against Crossroad Academy on Saturday, but Crossroad Academy came as close as anyone has to beating them. Maclay came out on top in a nail-biter against Crossroad Academy and snuck past 34-31.
Lauren Guyer was her usual excellent self, scoring 10 points. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Guyer, who scored 6 points.
Meanwhile, it was close, but two weeks ago Blountstown sidestepped Malone for a 37-34 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Blountstown.
Blountstown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cyianna Smith led the charge by scoring 9 points. Jill Davis was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Maclay's victory bumped their season record to 4-0 while Crossroad Academy's defeat dropped theirs to 0-2.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Maclay haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 0 turnovers per game. However, it's not like Blountstown struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 0 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
