The San Juan Broncos will challenge the Emery Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. San Juan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
San Juan will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Grand County, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. San Juan put the hurt on Grand County with a sharp 16-5 win on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Broncos considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Corbin Middlton and Cooper Palmer did most of the damage at the plate: Middlton went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Palmer scored four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Palmer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaiten Knight, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
San Juan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Emery didn't have quite enough to beat Beaver on Friday and fell 5-4.
Emery saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bronx Olsen, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Beau Stilson was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
San Juan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. Emery now has a losing record of 2-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. San Juan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Emery struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
San Juan skirted past Emery 3-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Juan since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
