Make it five blowout wins for the Rock Church Lions this season. They blew past StoneBridge 72-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Rock Church has posted since November 16, 2023.
Rock Church got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brandon Williams out in front who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Rock Church's points. Another player making a difference was Miles Dawkins, who scored 12 points along with six assists and six steals.
StoneBridge lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyler Thompson, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thompson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Douglas Marshall, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Rock Church and bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for StoneBridge, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Rock Church's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bethel Assembly Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th. Bethel Assembly Christian Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 10. As for StoneBridge, they will be playing at home against Greenbrier Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Greenbrier Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Thursday.
