The Modoc Braves were the 58-55 winner over the Fall River Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Modoc fell 60-49 to Fall River on Friday. Modoc has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Modoc still got an impressive performance from Adin Benson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. Benson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Guasp, who scored 11 points.
Fall River's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cannon Oilar, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. Oilar has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Camden Westlund, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Modoc has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Fall River, they pushed their record up to 14-10 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Modoc will face off against Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Durham will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Modoc surely won't give up without a fight. Fall River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
