Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sparta). They snuck past the Morris Knolls Golden Eagles with a 71-65 win on Wednesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 145th).

The win snapped Sparta's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-10 record. As for Morris Knolls, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparta will head out to challenge Randolph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sparta is facing Randolph at the right time seeing as Randolph is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Morris Knolls, they are taking a road trip to face off against Delbarton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
