The Crawford County Eagles can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Twiggs County by a score of 38-30. The victory was just what Crawford County needed coming off of a 64-34 defeat in their prior game.
Jakayla Peeples was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Crawford County's points. Trinity Fields was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Crawford County's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-8. As for Twiggs County, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crawford County will take on Greene County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Twiggs County, they will be playing at home against Hancock Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hancock Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
