The Bainbridge Bearcats can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They secured a 51-45 W over Shaw. Given Bainbridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Shaw is ranked 261st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bainbridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keith Gaines, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Aj Grant was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Bainbridge's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Shaw, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bainbridge will take on Seminole County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Shaw, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hardaway at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Hardaway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Wednesday.
