This season hasn't been kind to The Chamberlain Storm, who are still winless after their eighth match. They took a serious blow against Blake on Friday, falling 54-19. Chamberlain lost against Blake in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 21-8 score last time.
Jakeh Palmore and Austin Swank, Chamberlain certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Palmore picked up 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Swank threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Palmore's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards.
Blake got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deshawn Neal out in front who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadarian Collins, who picked up 106 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Chamberlain's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 Riverview and 7-1 Sumner (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 73.1% over those games). As for Blake, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Chamberlain will head out on the road to face off against Brandon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brandon will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. As for Blake, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Robinson at 7:30 p.m. Robinson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
