Make it eight blowout wins for the Lowndes Vikings this season. They blew past Colquitt County 74-49. The win was just what Lowndes needed coming off of a 75-50 loss in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lowndes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aryana Thomas, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Thomas continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kimora Wade was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Lowndes' victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Colquitt County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowndes and Richmond Hill will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Richmond Hill will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Colquitt County, they will head out on the road to challenge Camden County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Camden County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Friday.
