Malaki Cary Delivers Electric Performance Vs Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central
Starting off the list is Houston County's Malaki Cary, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Cary rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also picked up 88 receiving yards and a touchdown. His longest reception was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.
Unfortunately for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Cary. Cary rushed for 187 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries the last time he and the Tigers duked it out back in September of 2023.

Preston Mitchell Makes It Two for Houston County
Another Houston County player making an appearance on this list is Preston Mitchell. He rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 133 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Unfortunately for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Mitchell. When Mitchell last faced the Tigers back in September of 2023, he rushed for 218 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry.

Mcewen's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Jesse Ross
Thanks in part to Jesse Ross, McEwen said goodbye to their three-game losing streak. Nobody could stop Ross on Friday as he rushed for 40 yards.
The win got McEwen back to even at 3-3. Ross and McEwen will be playing at home against Waverly Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Effort from Robert Kizer Leads Houston County over Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central
Robert Kizer produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Houston County to the win on Friday. Kizer threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Kizer's next matchup is against McKenzie on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort. Kizer will face off against Tate Surber on Friday, the Rebels' star quarterback. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

Chase Mitchell Makes It Two for Mcewen
Another McEwen player making an appearance on this list is Chase Mitchell. He picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss). He is becoming a predictor of McEwen's success: when he posts at least four total tackles the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
For the year, Mitchell has averaged 4.7 total tackles per game and for the season has 3 sacks. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging three total tackles per game.
