Santaluces managed to slip by St. John Paul II Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Chiefs came up short against the Eagles on Thursday, falling 12-2.

Wellington came out on top against Spanish River on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Wolverines blew past the Sharks 8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wolverines have posted against the Sharks since March 7, 2023.
Wellington also got a great performance from Derrick Silvas as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Silvas also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Wolverines are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-8 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Brodi Logrosso was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Dante Fernandez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Wellington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spanish River only managed three.
Santaluces' loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Wellington, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9.
Santaluces couldn't quite get it done against Wellington in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can the Chiefs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
