Basketball Recap: East Central Takes a Loss

If East Central was feeling good fresh off their 69-48 takedown of St. Patrick on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets lost 90-69 to the Christian Collegiate Academy Bulldogs on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 68-32 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2021.

When it comes to explaining why East Central lost, don't look at Brody Howard. Despite the final result, he posted 29 points. With that strong performance, Howard is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Bonfiglio, who scored nine points and seven boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christian Collegiate Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Davis, who went 7-for-13 from beyond the arc on his way to 31 points and three steals. Those three steals gave Davis a new career-high. Tahj Hill was another key player, dropping a double-double with 28 points and ten rebounds.

East Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Christian Collegiate Academy, their record is now 3-1.

Looking ahead, East Central will take on St. Patrick at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Collegiate Academy has already played their next matchup (against Lamar Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
