After three games on the road, Holly Springs is heading back home. They will take on the Apex Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Holly Springs came up short against Cary and fell 51-42.
Holly Springs' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kalaesia Lincoln, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds, and Amy Lissow who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Lissow has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Lamptey, who scored four points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Holly Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Apex ended up a good deal behind Green Hope on Friday and lost 60-46. Apex has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Holly Springs bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Apex, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Holly Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over Apex in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 45-32. Does Holly Springs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Apex turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
