Basketball Recap: Rivers Knight Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Leesville Road

Jordan is still undefeated this season after their contest against Leesville Road on Thursday, but Leesville Road came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Jordan Falcons narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Leesville Road Pride 53-50. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Pride are ranked 65th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jordan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rivers Knight, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Knight has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Julian Lowe, who went 8 of 16 en route to 19 points and six rebounds.

Jordan's record now sits at 7-0. As for Leesville Road, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.

Jordan won't have much time to rest: their next game is against New Hanover at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. New Hanover knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Jordan likes a good challenge. As for Leesville Road, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Trinity Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
