Kendyl Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 13 of 17 on her way to 24 points along with five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Ringwelski, who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Frankenmuth against Swan Valley on Friday as the squad secured a 57-22 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Vikings are ranked 363rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Frankenmuth's win came from a few key players Powers Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Grace Brenner, who put up nine points and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Conzelmann, who posted seven points and four steals.
Powers Catholic's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.4 points. As for Frankenmuth, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's match: Powers Catholic has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38.2% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Frankenmuth, though, as they've only made 27.3% of their three-pointers this season. Given Powers Catholic's sizable advantage in that area, Frankenmuth will need to find a way to close that gap.
Powers Catholic was dealt a bruising 66-38 loss at the hands of Frankenmuth in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. Can Powers Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
