The Dyer County Choctaws's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They lost to South Gibson at home by a decisive 57-39 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dyer County in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost four in a row.
South Gibson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hallie Allen out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Reed, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Dyer County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for South Gibson, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dyer County will square off against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Dyersburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday. As for South Gibson, they will head out on the road to square off against the Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gibson County is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
