The Ray Bearcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 44-13 loss at the hands of Duncan. Ray was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.
Malena Goad was Ray's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Goad also led the team in rebounds with six.
Makayla Barajas took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Ray's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.1 points per game. As for Duncan, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Ray won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Patagonia at 5:30 p.m. on December 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Patagonia is ranked 248th, while Ray is ranked 273rd). Duncan will be home for the holidays to greet Willcox at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
