Clovis made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,894 from 3,399. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 34-29 victory over Carlsbad last week.
The Wildcats led 5A District 4 in scoring this week after putting up 34 points on the Cavemen.
Carlsbad's Rodney Holcomb and Tyler Hyden have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Holcomb has thrown for 1513 yards this season, while Hyden, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 30 catches for 475 yards. Clovis' Kamal Cass leads the league in rushing yards with 1563.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Eric Roanhaus' team takes on Hobbs. As it stands, the Wildcats are in second, while the Eagles are in third.
Ron Arrington's team fell 34-29 to Clovis in the closest game of the week.
