Montezuma-Cortez took Pagosa Springs into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-8, 15-12.
Bayfield now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Montezuma-Cortez, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
