They walked away with a 46-38 win over North Clayton. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mundy's Mill also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Mundy's Mill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fred Umeano, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. The matchup was Umeano's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Orlando Favors was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, North Clayton saw an underclassman step up: Brandon Battle scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. Battle scored a full 39.5% of North Clayton's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Fisher, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Mundy's Mill now has a winning record of 3-2. As for North Clayton, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mundy's Mill will take on Woodward Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Woodward Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for North Clayton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Riverdale at 7:30 p.m.
