Landon Arnold was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Tucker Seibert was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Fannett Metal hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Northern Bedford County sidestepped Meyersdale for a 4-2 win.
Alex Kochara was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Kochara was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That run was his first of the season.
Kochara wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Wesley Horsh, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Horsh also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.
Northern Bedford County's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Fannett Metal, their record is now 3-0.
Northern Bedford County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fannett Metal hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .463. It's a different story for Northern Bedford County, though, as they've only averaged .204. Will they be able to contain Fannett Metal's hitters?
