The Umatilla Bulldogs were the  53-50 winner over the South Lake Eagles when they last played one another  back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Umatilla took a   62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
 Despite the  loss, Umatilla saw an underclassman step up:  Herly Brutus  almost  dropped  a double-double on 14 points and nine  assists. Brutus is on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed three or more in the last four games he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jay Miller, who  scored 15 points.
 Even though they lost, Umatilla  were working as a unit and  finished the game with 18  assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Lake only racked up ten  assists.
  David PINA continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Lake,  dropping  a double-double on 13 points and 12  rebounds. PINA is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight.  Isaiah Pina was another key contributor,  dropping  a double-double on ten points and 12  rebounds.
 Umatilla's defeat  ended a five-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 18-5. As for South Lake,  the  victory  makes it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 14-10.
 Umatilla will square off against the Hurricanes at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Lake Weir has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 364 points over their last six games. As for South Lake, they will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against the Mustangs at 7:00  p.m. Wekiva has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
