Baseball Recap: Merkel's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Merkel had lost five straight, but after bumping their record up to 10-10 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy Eagles get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. The Badgers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 12th (when they won 26-3).

As for San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. They have struggled against Merkel recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

For San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Rangel, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Ramiro Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
