The Coleman Comets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of Carson City-Crystal by a score of 44-42. Coleman has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Cole Smith was his usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with four steals for Carson City-Crystal. Grayson Ackels was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Coleman has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Carson City-Crystal, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coleman will take on the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vestaburg and the Comets are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Carson City-Crystal, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. St. Charles is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
