The Whitney Young Dolphins will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Taft Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After a string of six wins, Whitney Young's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were outmatched by Wheaton North at home and fell 34-0. While losing is never fun, Whitney Young can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 196th, while Wheaton North is ranked 41st).
Meanwhile, Taft fell victim to Lincoln-Way East's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Griffins, falling 55-0.
The losses dropped Whitney Young to 7-3 and Taft to 4-6.
Whitney Young took their victory against Taft when the teams last played back in October by a conclusive 30-6. Does Whitney Young have another victory up their sleeve, or will Taft turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
