On Tuesday, Green City was able to grind out a solid win over Kauffman, taking the game 55-48. Given Green City's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Kauffman is ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Asher Buggs-Tipton was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Green City's points. Noah Tipton was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Green City and bumps their season record up to 8-1. As for Kauffman, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green City will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Savannah at 3:30 p.m. on December 21st. As for Kauffman, they will challenge Cameron on Thursday. Cameron has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21.
