The McLane Highlanders lost against the Hoover Patriots back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Saturday. McLane took a  71-52 bruising from Hoover. McLane has not had much luck with Hoover recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
 Defeat or not, McLane got some senior leadership from  Cedric Hughes and  James Brown.  Hughes  dropped  a double-double on 18 points and ten  rebounds, while  Brown.  scored 16 points along with two  steals. Hughes has been hot recently, having posted eight or more  rebounds the last six times he's  played.  Jaye Din Turner was another key contributor,  scoring five points.
 Even though they lost, McLane  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 16  offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hoover only pulled down nine  offensive rebounds.
 Hoover's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   RJ Franklin, who  scored 14 points along with six  rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Pamir Olivier, who  dropped  a double-double on 13 points and ten  rebounds.
 McLane's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Hoover, their win was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 12-9.
 McLane will  take on Fresno at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Hoover, they will be playing at home against Sanger West at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Sanger West is coming into the  game on a four-game losing streak.
