The Continental Pirates will venture away from home to take on the Bath Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Continental barely beat Upper Scioto Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 11-1 victory on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won three contests in a row.

Gracie Homier was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kenzie Searfoss, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Chloe Larry also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Bath blew past Kenton 15-2.
Addi Gibson was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-4. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hailee Mauk, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs.
Bath lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Continental's record is now 11-2. As for Bath, their record now sits at 9-5.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Continental hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. However, it's not like Bath struggles in that department as they've averaged .325. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
