Basketball Recap: Jailee Allen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Warren County over Augusta Christian

After flying high against Glascock County last Monday, Warren County came back down to earth. The Warren County Screaming Devils fell 52-41 to the Augusta Christian Lions on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Screaming Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Lions are ranked 83rd).

Several Screaming Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jailee Allen, who posted ten points along with eight boards and four steals. Allen has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played. Saniya Tolbert was another key player, putting up seven points and ten rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Augusta Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makenna Ellis, who had 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Schwarz, who put up ten points.

Warren County's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Augusta Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.

Warren County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-41 defeat against Washington-Wilkes on the 13th. As for Augusta Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-42 win against Wilson Hall on the 13th.
