The West Grand Mustangs's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Clear Creek Golddiggers at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. West Grand comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
On Friday, West Grand was beaten by Lake County 64-19. West Grand has struggled against Lake County recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kai Edson, who scored seven points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Cooper Martinson was another key contributor, scoring two points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Clear Creek lost to Vail Mountain at home by a decisive 52-33 margin on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clear Creek has scored all season.
Collin Hendrickson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler O'Brien, who scored eight points along with three steals.
West Grand bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Clear Creek, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
West Grand was taken down by Clear Creek 72-31 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point West Grand was down 35-13.
