Hagerstown is 0-1 against Sheridan since November of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hagerstown Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Sheridan Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. Sheridan took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hagerstown, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Hagerstown was able to grind out a solid victory over Northeastern, taking the game 27-20. Hagerstown pushed the score to 27-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Northeastern cut but never quite recovered from.
Hagerstown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grant Semler, who gained 85 total yards and a touchdown.
Hagerstown's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Lowell Berger and Logan Parrish who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Sheridan fell victim to Carroll's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They suffered a rough 24-0 defeat at the hands of the Cougars. It was the first time this season that Sheridan let down their fans at home.
Hagerstown's win on Friday bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Sheridan, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Hagerstown has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 166 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Sheridan struggles in that department as they've been even better at 185.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Hagerstown was taken down by Sheridan 75-36 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Hagerstown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
