After both having extra time off, the Trinity Bulldogs and the Randleman Tigers will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Even though Providence Grove scored an imposing 63 points last Wednesday, Trinity still came out on top. Trinity took down Providence Grove 77-63. Given Trinity's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Providence Grove is ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trinity's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Campbell, who scored 24 points along with five assists and two steals. Dominic Payne was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Randleman was able to grind out a solid victory over Providence Grove last Friday, taking the game 59-48.
Tyshaun Goldston continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Pacey Wagner, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Trinity has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Randleman, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Trinity didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Randleman in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 61-55 victory. Will Trinity repeat their success, or does Randleman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
