After a string of three wins, the Seven Oaks Classical Firehawks's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tabernacle Christian. The game was a 20-20 toss-up at halftime, but Seven Oaks Classical couldn't quite close it out.
Despite the loss, Seven Oaks Classical saw an underclassman step up: Macy Bush scored 32 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 58.2% of Seven Oaks Classical's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Lucy Adams was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Seven Oaks Classical struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Tabernacle Christian racked up 11 assists.
Annie Sichting continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tabernacle Christian, almost dropping a triple-double on 29 points, ten assists, and nine steals. Sichting hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was Liz Southerland, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Seven Oaks Classical's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10. As for Tabernacle Christian, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
Seven Oaks Classical didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-28 win vs. Bloomington HomeSchool on the 10th. Tabernacle Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Fishers Christian Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Tabernacle Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
