Wayne has gone 9-1 against Thurston-Cuming County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will host Thurston-Cuming County at 4:30 p.m. Wayne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Wayne made easy work of Holdrege and carried off an 11-1 victory. Considering the Blue Devils have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jaxson Kneifl, who went 3-for-5 with two triples, two stolen bases, and four RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Wayne is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Adrian Contreras was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Wayne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Thurston-Cuming County nor St. Paul/Palmer made it on the board until the fifth inning. Thurston-Cuming County skirted past St. Paul/Palmer 4-3. The win was nothing new for Thurston-Cuming County as they're now sitting on three straight.
Trevor Trimble made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.
Trimble wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Browning, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Thurston-Cuming County's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Wayne, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
