The Fairfield Falcons will face off against the Wawasee Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Wawasee will be up against a hot Fairfield team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 26-1 margin over West Noble on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Paige Park made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had over her last five contests. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Jones, who fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jayna Copen, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Fairfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Noble only posted an OBP of .409.
Meanwhile, Wawasee came up short against Concord on Wednesday and fell 15-11.
Kirra Alvarez was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. MariJo Bontrager was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Fairfield's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Wawasee, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fairfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .384. However, it's not like Wawasee struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fairfield got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April against Wawasee by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
