Football Recap: Cathedral Prep Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Cathedral Prep gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They managed a 43-37 win over the Erie Royals. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Ramblers were the better team in the second half.

DaZarie Carson had a dynamite game, rushing for 184 yards and four TDs.

Carson was just one part of a punishing run game: Cathedral Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cathedral Prep will welcome Sharon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Erie, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Austintown-Fitch at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
