The St. John's Bluejays were the 39-30 winner over the Paulding Panthers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. St. John's took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paulding on Tuesday.
Paulding found their leader in underclassman Tori Schlatter, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Schlatter, who scored eight points.
St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Paulding, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
St. John's will head out on the road to face off against Fort Recovery at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Recovery is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Paulding will take on Ayersville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ayersville will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
